Dec. 13, we had the pleasure of spending a morning with guest presenters, Diane Watt, Educational Researcher & Instructor from the University of Ottawa, and  two of her research collaborators, Kayf Abdulqadir and Fartousa Siyad, who are award-winning Youtubers, and creative team members of the Youtube production companies, Specs & Veils, and the Cool Ciyaal.

At the workshop, Kayf and Far spoke to the youth, sharing their experiences of overcoming adversity, finding their voices, and pursuing careers in digital media.

 

Then our youth spent the remainder of the morning working on projects of their choosing.
